Money Pit

We are home owners. By extension we also have a Money Pit that has spent the last nine years sucking up valuable resources from our Megamail operations. Just about every part of our house has been renovated at some point. From small jobs such as repainting, to big jobs such as gutting a bathroom way past its prime.

Kitchen
September - November 2010

It took us ten years to figure out what to do with the kitchen. In the end it required moving the bathroom and moving some doorways around. But in the end it turned out fantastic.

Attic
August - September 2007

Although the attic was already finished and had electrical, heat and A/C, it had shabby carpeting and leftover paneling and was divided into two rooms. We opened up the space, hung drywall and installed hardwood floors.

Guest Bathroom
June - October 2006

That pink flowery wallpaper was on our nerves since the day we moved in. No more! Like our master bathroom, we ripped out everything to the studs and installed a lot of tile and even a granite counter top.

Master Bathroom
September 2005 - March 2006

This major renovation was a long time in coming. We ripped out everything down to the studs and put tile everywhere. And we mean EVERYWHERE! The centerpiece was the Kohler pedestal sink and the room was designed around that.

Pacific Room
February 2005

Just a paint job, though we wanted to use a sponging technique on the walls with two similar shades of yellow. We needed a bright color in this room because it is the darkest room in the house. The furniture that we ended up adding lent the name: The Pacific Room.

Dining Room
October - November 200

We needed to get this room in shape for when our parents would come for Christmas. It would be the first time they met each other before our wedding. We both had our hearts set on a bold color. We experimented with a combing technique that ultimately failed.
